Vitex Regulates Hormones

I read on a naturopathic forum on fertility that to help regulate your hormones if you ovulate late than you should start taking Vitex from Cycle Day 14 onwards (until either your period starts or you are confirmed pregnant) even if you haven't ovulated yet.

The reason is that the Vitex can spur on the body to ovulate sooner, and then while you are taking it in the second half of your cycle in helps lengthen your luteal phase.

So I stopped taking the pregnancy drops yesterday and started taking the Vitex. I'm taking one capsule three times a day with meals.

Can I ask, what are the pregnancy drops that you are taking? Thanks!

It's a naturopathic remedy called "Pregnancy Drops" available from a chemist in the city here in Australia. It has Black Cohash, False Unicorn Root and a number of other herbs that are meant to be beneficial for fertility.

It tastes awful, but it worked for me last time!

Thanks Tracey.

The reading I've been doing on Vitex suggest 2 tablets first thing in the morning, taken all through your cycle so it can build up in your body. I've started taking it, although I'm still debating whether I should tell my naturopath or not! It will be interesting to see if it causes any changes.

Good luck!

Yes, 2 Vitex tablets first thing in the morning will work well and build up in your body.

Definately tell your naturopath - she might even have some more tips for you.

Hope it works for you!
